This is a stunning and colorful unpolished piece of bloodstone (also called "dragon's blood") , 2.2 oz and 2.25” by 1.4" by 0.55”, from India. She is la melange of golden-green with “rivulets of deep, blood-red. Bloodstone is a form of jasper with the red coming from hematite. In ancient times, it was known as heliotrope and martyr's stone (said to represent drops of Christ's blood on the ground as he was on the cross). This is a great size for personal meditation as well as for placing on the body during a Reiki or crystal healing session . And she travels well in a pocket!
I have always used bloodstone as an awesome clearing and cleansing friend. My first use of it came about five years after my father died and I thought I was well over it. Well, I found this awesome piece of bloodstone in a local crystal shop and immediately, put her in my pocket. I could not believe ALL that came out and I literally processed his last few years of life and his struggle with cancer. After that, I was able to let him go and to finally process the difficulty of those last years … and remember him for the vital, sweet and loving man that he was. The weight of the world was lifted from me. I still reach for that bloodstone when I am troubled and need to work things out … she is a long and trusted friend.
Recently, I was lucky to acquire a couple of pieces of polished bloodstone and I have to say that the energies are incredible! This sweetie has a most wonderful hand-feel, warming immediately to the touch. Because of her size, I feel like she is gentler than the smaller pieces, helping you to process much more slowly and deliberately. Cherish her … and she says that she would also welcome a chance to work in a healing practice or be used in a personal healing. Be warned, however, to have Kleenex at the ready as much will process. Also, if using a healer, be aware that they will also process, so it is good to work with her in advance so that the healer clears first.
