This is wondrous pair of hand-carved blue amber bees totaling 8.86 grams and each about 1.25”. It was hard to show the intricate detail in photos, but you will be able to see it best in person … eyes, wings, back, abdomen, body … all accurate and the size of a US bumblebee! There is one resting bee (slightly more honey-colored) and one flying bee … as if the two work in tandem, the flying one going flower to flower while the other one rests and awaits his turn. And should you want to make a gorgeous bee pendant, there is a small, drilled hole in each bee to run a slender chain or cord through!
Bees pollinate roughly three quarters of world’s plants which produce up to 90% of the world’s food and contribute roughly $217 billion to the global economy every year. Without bees and other pollinators, think what life would be like without strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes, avocados, etc … or without flowers and trees. And let’s not forget honey! By being an essential part of plant fruiting and seed-producing, bees ensure a healthy environment for flora and in turn, fauna. We, as humans benefit from the food, spices and herbs, oils, medicines and oxygen produced by these plants. Bees symbolize community, purpose and abundance. And because of their sting and tenacity, they also represent strength. Even mighty elephants will retreat from a swarm of angry and diminutive bees! They are wondrous Spirit Animals and the bee totem combines the Chakra-balancing energies of the blue amber with the Spirit and strength of the bee.
