This is a very colorful dream dome of opalescent quartz from Brazil … in miniature 0.3 oz, 1” by 0.7” by 0.5”. She is slightly rounded on top and has a rounded, triangular bottom that fits well in the hand so you can study her well. Inside, she has shades of autumn gold highlighting darker fern-like branches of crystalline manganese (known as dendritic quartz) that rise up into a golden and opalescent sky. The opalescence is from trace rare minerals and it gives them an ethereal quality. The quartz has minute fractures (likely from temperature cycling and/or earth movement) and in those fractures, the iron and mineral-rich water seeps in and as the quartz forms, so do the crystals. You will find a zillion special things about her!
