This is a dark-looking 4.6 oz, 2.2” by 1.85” by 1.5” “colony” of chalcedony bubbles from Morocco. It is a typical botryoidal chalcedony … a “boiling”, bubbling crystalline liquid, frozen in time, but beautifully expressed … and in this case, the bubbles form a kind of ball with a bit of golden-healer stained calcite in the crevices. When you first look at it, it appears shades of very dark gray … but when backlit, the golden-brown nature reveals itself. All the bubbles are very distinctive and you can literally see how geologically, it was formed.
