This is an arrival from Bahia, Brazil and so atypical of the quartz I carry. This is a pseudomorph of goethite after quartz, so it has the shape of a quartz crystal but has been completely replaced by goethite leaving it totally black and opaque with the sides having a texture very different than quartz. Some are striated diagonally, some vertically a then, there are actual waves in the surface. A deeper wave has golden healer in the deepest part and a bit carried down the sides. The top of the crystal has a number of different white lines, one curved, some straight. Each of these quartz has a different arrangement pattern. The base is V-ed and healed with a bit of both the white and gold on it. The crystal is in perfect condition weighing 13.3 oz and measuring 4.7 by 2” by 1.5”.
