This is a 2.7 gram, 1.3” by 0.8” by 0.1” teardrop-shaped cab of positively lovely Melody Stone quartz from Espirito Santo, Brazil. Melody Stone contains white, smoky and amethyst quartz plus lepidocrosite, goethite, rutile and cacoxinite. Each is still considered Melody stone even is not all of the seven minerals are present. This cab has a swath of deep violet amethyst, clear quartz, a bit of smoky and an abundance of cacoxinite. With a loupe, you will see the cacoxinite in areas of “starbursts” and others of sort of a narrow “pinecone” shape. The entire effect is fascinating and you will get lost in the crystalline landscapes!
