This is a colorful and highly-fenstered quartz from Madagascar, 1.4 oz and 1.85” by 1.5” by 0.9”. “Fenster” is “window” in German and thus, the name given to the wonderful chambers of certain quartz - as if you had a window to the many rooms. The fenstering is all around and in fact, sometimes goes deeply within the crystal. The oil inclusions are obscured by the deep russet color but the wonderful oil inclusions glow bright yellow like fireflies under ultraviolet (black) light! These are exceedingly rare inclusions as these oil “enhydros” are known from only a few areas around the world and attest to organic matter during the crystal’s formation. Sides and faces that are intricately marked and the mottled russet color is a delightful contrast to the utter clarity in areas. Note that my camera threw fits when I used the UV light on these - pink was reflected from the surfaces (the pink is not fluorescence) but I did get one shot that shows the yellow fluorescence. This special crystal is in excellent condition.??
