This is a colorful and slightly-fenstered and twinned quartz from Madagascar, 2.3 oz and 2.3” by 1.3” by 1.15”. “Fenster” is “window” in German and thus, the name given to the wonderful chambers of certain quartz. If you explore her with a loupe, you can readily see a multitude of gold inclusions (oil) inside, some with mobile “enhydros”. The abundance of these oil inclusions glow bright like a Christmas tree under ultraviolet (black) light! These are exceedingly rare inclusions as oil “enhydros” are known from only a few areas around the world and attest to organic matter during the crystal’s formation. Sides and faces are intricately marked and her mottled russet color is a delightful contrast to her clarity in areas. At her base is a small student with inner chamber exposed. Next to that student is kind of a stump that I thought at first was a scepter rod, but it is just an extension of the major crystal. She has a scrape on one side as a result of her extraction in the mine but is otherwise in good condition.
