When I saw these on the table at my suppliers, I gasped – these are amazing, beautiful and unusual quartz! She is part of a find from the Kullu Pass in Northern India, gateway to the Himalayans. The rose color comes from hematite and not from titanium as true rose quartz does. She is strangely configured and exceedingly intricate – no real faces, but yet thousands of them ... she is ridged, etched and pocked likely to dissolution ... acid etching from natural processes.To her back, she has a deep and well-held key that shows a crescent shape at her base. Both terminations are flattened and her top one shows a bit of golden healer stained calcite. There is a very small ding to her side, but nothing that detracts from her beauty ... she weighs 5.6 oz and measures 3.3” by 1.6” by 1.3”.
