This is a wondrous and very mystical quartz from Messina, South Africa, 6.7oz and 3.5” by 2.6” by 1.4”. The famous copper mines there have been closed down for some time and all of the original quartz mined was becoming rare. New finds have opened up temporarily (all have now closed) and the quartz is nothing short of magnificent … and it’s not all about ajoite. She is a very unusual and fascinating cluster with one large crystal with numerous small ones to the side. When you first look at her, she appears black, but when backlit, she looks deep red. And on her top side is a heavy druse of epidote from teeny-tiny crystals to just tiny ones. At the top, there is a “flower” of piedmontite. crystals of epidote and piemontite. The hematite coating on the crystals glitters in the light and to her back is a pale turquoise sort of botryoidal druse of plancherite. She has a most unusual and mysterious appearance for a Messina quartz and a loupe will reveal all of her beauty to you. Ajoite or not, it is clear – this is a new Messina energy and it’s not all about the ajoite, but in this one, prepare your Self! These are sacred, sacred crystals, the Jewels of Lemuria! Although she is not a great beauty as Messina quartz goes, she has a humbleness about her that speaks to the ages.
