This is a wonderful 2.3 oz, 1.6” by 1.6” by 0.95” etched heliodor. Heliodor is a yellow beryl where the glorious color is contributed by iron impurities in the beryl.
She doesn't have with that yellow color but in truth, the accepted heliodor color ranges from yellow-green to yellow-brown. Only the golden yellow, however is considered gem quality. She is beautifully striated and has some brown areas …. not sure what they are, but there are insets of them. She has a lovely termination and there is a tiny, natural hole along one edge. Heliodor is a word from the Greek meaning “sun gift” and truly, she is!
