Red amphibole quartz is from Serra do Cabral Mountains in Brazil. Unlike the lovely pastel or sunrise/sunset-toned amphiboles, these are definite shades of red, sometimes accented with greens, blues and golds and this is a stunning red and gold that nearly fills the interior! Amphibole minerals have no crystalline form and meander through the crystal like scarves in the wind. Like many of this lot, the faces are polished to better feature the display and thesis are left natural to show the color and layering of the crystal. One area is actually clear and you get a nice show of red there. It is totally fascinating how her crystalline expression is … unique, unabashed and positively stunning! She is 2.6 oz and 2.6” by 1.3” by 1” and this quartz is truly amazing!
