Red amphibole quartz is from Serra do Cabral Mountains in Brazil. Unlike the lovely pastel or sunrise/sunset-toned amphiboles, these are definite shades of red, sometimes accented with greens, blues and golds and she is a stunning red and gold with a touch of white! Amphibole minerals have no crystalline form and meander through the crystal like scarves in the wind. This lovely Spirit has those scarf-like wisps of red that shift to gold and then a bit of white while a side student has red tipped with white. Many of this lot have been polished or partially polished and she is no exception with her all but one polished faces that show the inside layers effectively. Plus she is a subtle twin! There are a few keys at her irregular base and contact areas. It is totally fascinating how her crystalline expression is … unique, unabashed and positively stunning! She is 4.7 oz and 3.3” by 1.4” by 1.4” and has a few very little dings, but nothing alters her beauty!
