This is a lovely, radiant and singing 0.9 oz carnelian (carnelian is a form of chalcedony and classically orange but can vary in shade) from Indonesia measuring 3.65” by 1.4” by 0.2”. When first examined, the piece looks like a vertical cross-section of a tree and the polishing brings out the colors. Vivid orange carnelian exhibits in the outer edges, then again edges the grayish area with a very light grayish-gold in the center. The effect is truly stunning and the “cab” could be wire-wrapped for a statement-piece pendant.
