This is a very beautiful crystal from Bahia, Brazil. These quartz were polished as there was a “skin” on the outside that was blocking the “show” inside. This is a stately tower, 3.3 oz and 3.2” by 1.1” by 0.8” with a spectacular display of rainbows in the lower portion. The rainbows appear to emanate from the amethyst at the base. Also arising from the base is a series of three brownish phantoms! Take a UV light and shine on it and voila … the phantoms glow orange! The phantoms found in these quartz are from powellite which is rare especially in this location. The vein where these quartz were mined has already played out, so this is a very special crystal!??Click on the link below to see additional pictures.
